The Gathering, hosted by the Georgia Learning Community, was once again a memorable and inspiring experience.
Each year, this special retreat brings together people with developmental disabilities, Direct Support Professionals, providers, advocates, and subject matter experts to learn from one another, celebrate successes, build relationships, and simply enjoy being together. It is a time to recharge, reconnect, and be reminded of the importance of community.
Held at the beautiful Unicoi State Park, the setting adds to the tradition, creating a sense of nostalgia and belonging that grows stronger with each passing year.
I am grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with longtime friends, make new ones, and share in the joy, fellowship, and sense of purpose that make The Gathering such a meaningful event. Thank you to everyone who helps make this experience possible year after year.
