The Georgia Learning Communities’ Gathering on September 5th and 6th, 2024, was an event to remember. Over two action-packed days, connections were forged, memories made, and invaluable lessons learned. It was more than a conference; it was a dynamic celebration of shared goals, advocacy, and community.
Attendees gathered not only to learn and advocate but also to enjoy one another’s company with laughter, stories, and even a few celebratory drinks. The atmosphere was buzzing with camaraderie and a shared sense of purpose, as everyone reflected on past successes and eagerly looked forward to the future of person-centered practices.
A standout moment of the Gathering was the involvement of the DSP (Direct Support Professional) Council. Their participation brought honor and significance to the event, embodying the values of the Gathering and reinforcing the impact of the work being done. Their contributions were a powerful reminder of the lives being positively affected through these efforts.
