- Upon hire, complete and maintain certification in all required training, including CPR/FA and Crisis de-escalation training, as provided by Star Choices Inc.
- Daily document electronically work support given and work completed.
Community DSP’s
We support people who live in their own home, apartment, duplex, condo, family home, etc. We support people to fully experience all that a valued and interconnected life in their community can provide for them.
Job duties will include but not limited to:
Going out into the community and exploring the individuals interest toward employment, volunteerism, making friends, joining a walking club, getting involved in other activities, assisting the individuals with food preparation, house-keeping, cleaning, laundry, organizing, balancing check books, paying bills, transportation, assisting on medical appointments, etc. The large majority of this would be 1-1 work meaning you would only have one person you were working with at a time. We would train you with several individuals and see who you matched the best with to support. Then you and the individuals you begin to support would figure out the schedule some shifts start as early as 7:45am and other don’t end until 9pm. Shifts vary in duration based on the individual you are supporting and their needs.
Starting pay $9p/h (6-month review (eligible for RAISE $9.50 p/h) 1 year review (eligible for RAISE $10 p/h) (PT and FT employee positions.).

Residential DSP’s
We support people to live in shared residences or group homes. There is 1 gentleman’s home currently.
Shifts begin each day at 5pm – and last until 5pm the next day. (24/365). Number of shifts to work each week negotiable and based on current coverage needs. (PRN available on request)
Job Duties will include but are not limited to:
Cooking, Cleaning, assisting with hygiene, transportation, assist with medical appointments, work well independently and as part of a larger team, helping others to become more involved/connected in their community. Starting pay $7.25 p/h (all hours over 40 paid at time @1/2 or ~$10.88 p/h (*yes sleep time counts toward hours) ~ (PT and FT employee positions.).

House Manager
Join an organization committed to supporting individuals who experience developmental disabilities in their daily lives.
Star Choices, Inc., is looking for full time house managers.
Position will include working weekly 2 (24 hour) shifts in a group residence and then spending ~10 hours per week on Administrative oversight/responsibilities for that group residence. (Sleep & Awake time paid at same rate) The ideal candidate would have DSP and supervisory/house manager experience, ability to solve problems, and work well independently and as part of a larger team.
Minimum Job Requirements
21 years of age
High school diploma/GED
Reliable Transportation
Valid driver’s license
Current auto insurance
Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds
Starting pay (~$2,175 p/m or ~$26,104 p/y)
