Challengers Mission (Community Development and Host Home)
- We provide Serves to the Individual Associates by:
- Encouraging Presence in the Community
- Promoting Participation in the Community
- Supporting Contribution, Choice, Natural Supports, and Relationships
- Provide Supports Necessary for Valued Social Capital
- We also provide host homes for individuals that are seeking a place to live in the community. The host home provider provides room and board, personal support, attends all conferences, meetings, staffing and planning sessions held relative to the associate’s individual service plan, and other meetings held concerning the associates progress
New Directions (Personal Support Team)
- Each member of the New Direction Team strives to assist each associate that we serve to have a more meaningful life. We make contacts to develop resources for each one in areas such as volunteering, developing friendships, reconnecting with family members, becoming members of different organizations, students, etc. A few places where associates are volunteering are the American Red Cross, the bargain center, Mulberry Outreach, and Rosa Jackson Center. Here at Star Choices, we are about inclusion of associates into the community.
